Pipkin: A Damn Fine Reason to roll Goblin

I think this thing is powered by Sheer Win (tm).

Twin Val'kyrs

Figured I'd share with you where we're at now in WoW. We downed the Twin Val'kyrs in heroic Trial of the Crusader for the first time this week and spent an evening wiping on the last boss left in WoW. Well, until the next patch anyway.

One of the two tanks Frapsed it, so I'll show you the vid clip. As you can see, it was a clean kill.

More than words

The mind boggles. A friend linked this clip and I just had to share it - it's pretty damn awesome!

As requested... Pt. II

And part two contains three more lyrics. Two of which are for Serotonin as well, but have not been recorded in any fashion that I'd like you to hear. The last one will be for a side-project, if we ever get that running, called Cabal Co. It features a different tone and is quite a bit shorter than the normal stuff I write. Occasionally I do stuff that's not band related, but I don't feel inclined to include that currently.

I'll try to present Revelations as intended as closely as possible . Formatting can be important to me, and lacking the option to pick the appropriate fonts for titles and text already irks me. Information Overload is nearly presented as it will be printed, though obviously the choice of font is lacking - it should be a fixedsys type of font-set. I tried to set it here, but am not sure it'll display properly for you. Unfortunately, I can't get it to justify the way it should - it should be one massive block of text, equal on all sides, rather than bouncing like now. Yes, I made a 'vocalist' version of that one. Lastly, Cryogenetic God touches upon a topic I don't generally use in my normal lyrics and has a different, to me at least, flow than usual.

As with part I, comments are more than welcome, though it is exceptionally unlikely I'll alter the lyrics in any way other than potentially editing out a typo I missed.

As requested... Pt. I

I've written a number of lyrics over the years, not all used, not all equally good. I tried to dig up a few examples of where I'd been playing with words more than others, but unfortunately, most of those are really old and not something I'd want to publish as a 'first' passage. I'm a firm believer in references, and as such I sprinkle a huge amount of those in my own lyrics. I reference other bands, books, Discovery documentaries or even the lyrics of the vocalist in my band.

The following three have a musical companion, listed on our myspace site. While I do not particularly like Myspace, it's a valid platform for musicians such as ourselves. There's one decently recorded song (E-Scapegoat), one recorded song (Virulent, which is about 70 BPM too slow in that version) and a crappy vidcam version of a new song (Oblivious). Those three are the ones I'll be posting in part I. Part II will be used to showcase some other stuff, like formatting or a different tone for what is supposed to be another band.

Obligatory warning: We do not play pop-music. This is not easy listening.

Tiny Adventures

Apparently, WotC released a Facebook module which is (remotely) based on D&D. My Tiefling Warlock hit level 2. (Wooh!)

It's not fast paced, nor really interactive, but it passes by quietly and might just entertain you for half a minute every 10 minutes or so.

Here's a link and a picture:

Beatbox Chef

Right, with our resident chief proudly posting away about his numerous exploits in the kitchen, I figured I'd share something related. Well, remotely related, but still. Extremely remotely related, but you get the point I'm sure.

I found this rather entertaining, and even though it's already 2 years old and you've undoubtedly seen it already, I'm going to share it anyway.

Rightroyallylate

Here's one I think Stigg might enjoy.

It's one of the various April's Fools jokes made this year and I think that the loot dropped by the Hogginator might be of particular interest to some.

The world's most brilliant beer commercial

Despite the fact that it contains too much Heineken for comfort, this has to be the single best beer commercial ever. Unfortunately, it's in Dutch, but I do believe you'll grasp the basic essence of the clip regardless.

Mine, all mine!

It's a done deal.

After suffering the failings of public transit more than once, but in full force last Tuesday, I realised I didn't want to travel back n forth daily praying I'd catch the transfer this time. With a one hour wait if you don't, it just wasn't an appealing thought. Particularly not since it'd mean that on at least one day, I might as well just turn around and forget about teaching the class I was about to have.
