This is why the site came into being, to be a creative outlet for bloggers that love World of Warcraft. Under the hood is Drupal so you have a reasonably featured blogging system that allows for full html, php and a variety of features. This is a personal space, free from any administration interference1.
These are more public discussion areas. Post news articles from Blizzard here, link interesting discussions you might have found on other sites and share things you want to place in a slightly more public arena here.
Books allow you to author a story, or even co-author a story. Pages are linked together and will give users an easy navigation through all the chapters you have written. This is a wonderful creative outlet that I'm just beginning to explore.
Yes, you can also run polls.
If you setup a book, blog or anything else, please let me know so I can link it in the appropriate side-bar block. If you feel that anything is missing, please drop me a note so I can adjust or install the required modules.
All posts, be they in the blog, book or forum sections are promoted to the front page. If you do not want something promoted, edit the "Publishing Options" at the bottom of your page.
You have 100mb of free storage available. This is so you can attach files, upload builds interfaces or anything else that your heart desires. I do not mind if you use it for other purposes and if you need more space, let me know. There is plenty on this server. You can access the file section through http://knightly-slumber.com/worldofwarcraft/files if you need to link to something you have uploaded or attached.
If you are uploading a screenshot you can set the attachment to be invisible. This allows you to upload screenshots and then use them within your post / page / etc. through normal html img tags.
Private messages have been added. You have the ability to manage and organize your own folders and as our host provides us with unlimited disk space feel free to go mad as you will. Only registered users have access to private messaging. You can contact each author from a link at the bottom of their entry or by clicking "Write message" in the sidebar. If you click through to the "My account" link you can set your private message options. This allows you to receive email notification, schedule how much it will nag you to read them and so forth.
A shoutbox is available in the top right. It only allows registered users to post comments. Currently the Shoutbox only refreshes when the page refreshes. This is the lightest implementation I could find.
