Well, it's been a week-and-a-bit now, since I started posting the material from the paper RPG that Tan has been running. I would like to ask if you people here would be interested in reading more, or if it's not quite in the "hot spot" of interest for this place (being more than somewhat off-topic).

I'm somewhat concious of the formatting limitations imposed by the Intertubes, and I fully acknowlege that it's hard to read the larger pieces on-line, rather than in dead-tree format, (which is my preference for reading, could you guess?) Should more be posted, reading may become more difficult, as some of the story "pieces" are longer than what has already been put up. I would welcome comment on whether readers are finding the content understandable and accessible or if it's merely a specialised in-joke between myself and Tanitha (and the other players who participated).

There is a lot more to the story to come. There is Gwyn finding out who was responsible for the prisoner's presence on the island, and indeed a great deal more about the prisoner. There is his first meeting with another one of his kind. The other player characters slowly make their appearances, as does some of the plot, though most subtly woven in by Tanitha's cunning hand. Gwyn faces difficult decisions and finds his own answers to what he is, though some of his actions are very different to what might be expected from our positions in 21st century morality. And throughout all, there is Tan's rich world.

Opinions, please?

Do I get to have an opinion? Of course, I've had the good fortune to read everything already and I know where the story goes.

In any event, guys ... comment on this topic. Please.

No offense, but I'm not really interested.
I started on it, and while it was very well written and the story DID have some attraction, you really hit the nail when you wrote "I fully acknowlege that it's hard to read the larger pieces on-line".
I tend to give up an large walls of texts real quick because I find it very tiring to read large chunks of text on the monitor. I'd probably have read it through if it had been in book format or even in an eBook format I could load on my iPod.

That being said, I don't mind you writing it either. If other people enjoy the stories, keep'em comming. I'll just look onward to the next thing instead. ;)

What if chapters were uploaded in PDF format? Could you drop that onto your iPod?

I could, but due to small screensize it would lead to a LOT of sideways scrolling. Don't know about you, but that annoys the hell out of me.
eBooks are better because they can be loaded into a reader (I have eReader and Stanza) whick will format the text to best fit the screen.

What format is an eBook in? And is there a converter available for them?

I thoroughly enjoy them. Sadly, I still haven't gotten caught up on them (Still on Genesis 5). Every time I sit down and attempt to read them I get pulled back into real work. As you can see from my recent posts, I get barely more than one sentence down before I have to be alt-tabbed back over to a work related thing.

Please, please continue writing them! I would like them to be broken up into a bit smaller pieces though. Don't cut anything out, just break them up a bit. That way I can dedicate my time to reading a few paragraphs, get back to work, then when I have some down time, I read the rest.

Or put them in pdf so I can read it on the go!

As requested, more story in Stigg-sized chunks. Maybe Tan can figure out something for the Palm file formats for e-books. She's the 1337 one.

it uses PDB files. Don't really know how to make them, though.

Never ming the palm format. I believe I've found an app that'll allow me to read PDFs at a comfortable size.
Just, if you DO make them into PDFs, please add some whitespace here and there and keep the fontsize fairly large (16-18 pt should do it).

Might be able to do something about PDF's in a while. For now, I'll stick to 1 per night as you've suggested. (Until Stigg either develops A.D.D. or kills me)
