Anachronos... You know, just for kicks?
Last sunday we arranged a guild event just for fun, by trying to kite Azuregos in Azhara down to Orgrimmar just to see what would happen. Yes, we are Horde ourselves. Boneheaded, no?
Anyways, we couldn't find our elusive dragon. Blasted vermin. :(
So, we decided to do something else instead. What? Read on to find out...

Instead we headed south to Tanaris and the area just outside the Caverns of Time. There we found Anachronos, and decided to kite him over to Gadgetzan. Unfortunately there were very few players there so we decided to go with the original plan... On toward Orgrimmar!
Going through Thousand Needles were pretty easy (only meeting two lvl 33-ish druids on the way that backed pretty quickly away), but when we hit the great lift things started looking dim. That darn dragon just wouldn't get on board.
A lucky biproduct of that was that the dragons' health were reset when the tank got to the top, but it didn't run off because some raidmembers were left below.
So, the long way... Up the platforms to the Grimtotems and through the bramblevines outside Razorfen Downs and THEN into Barrens.
There were a few big eyes and some nervous players when we got to Crossroads. Talendria saw a lvl 13 shaman whacking at a plainstrider that simply forgot the fight and stared at us utill the plainstrider killed him.
The major letdown came when we got near Orgrimmar. Anachronos blurted out some nonsense and then disappeared. Check the chatlog on le last image to see what he said.
Have Blizzard added something to prevent kiting nasties into capitals? If so, at what patch?

Jesus man, that is the coolest thing I have seen in a loong time! Brilliant of yallto go up the crosswalks. And I do recall a patch about preventing the dragons from entering towns as vlizz decided it was an unfair advantage. But good god. I wouldn't have believed it without screenshots!

I forget at what patch this was implemented in, but I believe it falls into the same category of the Horde having kited Jaina from her spawn area (for an alliance quest) alllll the way to Org for a "love match" between her and Thrall.

With that said, I want to say it was "fixed" during BC and before WotLK (Goon's video was done in Feb. '08). Just a guess. HOWEVER...I gotta say, I LOVE the fact that y'all kited that big lizard as far as you did. I didn't realize you could still kite them that far (sad that they can't go into a capital city, but woohoo for bringin' them to the door :D).
I think that was changed around TBC times, back when people were kiting Kazzak and that silly Dragon in Blasted Lands to major cities. It was a bit of a hassle and a GM actually had to despawn Kazzak.
