Dungeons & Dragons - Eberron Unlimited

Just wanted to give you a mini update on this. I didn't get a chance to download the game until yesterday afternoon, and using the Turbine Download Manager the roughly 4.5Gb package took in the region of 4 to 5 hours at about 240 kbps. Fortunately they have the option to be able to pause the download for a time set by yourself so if it impinges on something you want to do you can take a"download break" and go play BFBC2 or something. This didn't much bother me as I was suckered into building kitchen cupboards for a few hours, so it was an ideal time to download it.

White crayon dice and the future

There are fond memories nestled snugly in my mind. Memories of that iconic cover. I was in my tweens when my dad brought that box home and as a family we tried to play through the adventure once or twice. And whilst, as a family, we never caught the roleplaying bug; I spent hours pouring over the illustrations, rolling the dice and reading the text. And it is rather funny, looking back at it now I see my father in a very different light. Somewhere in that gruff exterior lies a young man as well, who must have read about Dungeons and Dragons and been enthralled by the concept. And after quite likely sneaking it into the house past my mother, he tried this strange new thing that had been delivered to the world by Gygax.

But mostly I remember the pale blue dice and the white crayon you used to highlight the numbers. And my early attempts at rigging those dice so I'd roll better.
